The Pusztai-Story
In 1998, Arpad Pusztai agreed to give an interview for ITV’s ‘World in Action’ in order to gain a funding extension for his research on the impacts of feeding rats with GM potatoes. By giving statements such as “he won’t eat GM potatoes” and that it is “very, very unfair to use our fellow citizens as guinea pigs”, he breached with unwritten laws of science. His comments called into question scientific accuracy, rationality and a cemented succession of peer reviews and publications in ranked journals.
